Our Dental Cleaning Process

At Central Dental, dental cleanings begin with a thorough dental examination to check for issues like cavities or gum disease. Our experienced dental hygienists then remove plaque and tartar using advanced tools, followed by a deep cleaning between teeth. Cleanings are performed gently and professionally, with your comfort in mind every step of the way. Teeth are then polished to remove surface stains and leave them smooth. To help you maintain a healthy smile at home, we provide personalized oral care tips tailored to your needs.

What Happens If You Skip Dental Cleanings?

Neglecting regular dental cleanings doesn’t just lead to bad breath—it can affect your ability to eat comfortably and even harm your heart health. Plaque buildup, gum infections, and bacteria can spread deeper, potentially leading to long-term health issues. Prevention is easier than treatment.

What Makes Our Dental Cleanings Different?

At Central Dental, cleanings are never rushed. Our hygienists take the time to explain what they’re doing, listen to your concerns, and use advanced tools to make sure you’re comfortable at every step.

Dr. Bazzi believes that a gentle, calm environment makes a big difference—and it shows in how we treat every patient.

Dental Cleaning Service FAQ

The frequency of dental cleanings can vary depending on your individual needs. For most people, a cleaning every six months works well to maintain good oral health. However, if you have specific concerns such as gum disease, a history of cavities, or other dental issues, We may recommend more frequent visits, like every three to four months.

For most people, dental cleanings are not painful. You might feel a little pressure or sensitivity during the cleaning, especially if it’s been a while since your last visit or if your gums are inflamed. Rest assured, we use gentle techniques to make the process as comfortable as possible.

Scaling removes hardened plaque (tartar) from your teeth and below the gumline. Polishing smooths the tooth surface after scaling, removing stains and making your teeth feel clean and shiny.

Yes, regular cleanings remove plaque and tartar that cause cavities and gum inflammation, helping to prevent decay and periodontal disease before they start.

A cleaning usually takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour, including the dental exam and any preventive treatments like fluoride.

If you receive fluoride treatment, wait at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking to allow the fluoride to fully absorb. Otherwise, you can eat and drink as usual.
